The Money Trail – Geelong, Friday June 17

3 minute read

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Friday’s meeting at Geelong.

Track: Synthetic

Rail: True

First race: 1.00pm

Sprung Dancing (Race 3) was an eye catcher running on hard for third when resuming and punters are looking for her to go two better today, backing her in more than a point into favouritism at $3. She attempts the synthetic surface for the first time but is expect to be suited by the extra 100m second up from a break.

Tenacitus (Race 4) is one of several movers in the small field but his has been the best go and he is a clear cut favourite at $2.40 after firming more than a dollar. He has the highest last start rating in the field, achieved when a close second to race rival Doom ‘N’ Boom last time and meets him 2kg better today.

Tizso Wicked (Race 7) is a popular favourite with solid early backing firming her in about 40 cents to a fixed odds quote of $2.70. A last start winner at this track and distance when also favourite, she was placed in her only other synthetic track run and is expected to still be on the rise fourth up from a spell.

Believing (Race 8) is being a good chance of toppling the two favourites firming in the market while the top picks have eased. He is a $4 chance with TopBetta and is due a win after finishing runner up at this last three starts, the two latest here so should be comfortable with the synthetic surface now.

David Brideoake-trained two-year-old filly Sprung Dancing did well in defeating older runners here. Having her fourth race start and her second run this preparation, she settled nicely in fourth place (between runners) after quick beginning. She got a split on straightening and then wound-up to come with a good late finish to win well.
