Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Tuesday’s meeting at Pakenham.

Rocketcod (Race 1) has been heavily backed into the red at $1.45, almost a point shorter than his opening quote. He failed on a heavy track last start but had been runner up on synthetic first up so the return to the all weather should suit.

Julio (Race 3) is challenging for favouritism at $3.20 having tightened a point in early betting. He is yet to place in three runs but hasn’t been too far away at his past couple and the step up to the mile looks to suit.

Crisis Point (Race 6) could be worth an each way ticket at $5, which is two-and-a-half points shorter than his opening quote. He has run a third and a fourth so far this campaign and could be ready to peak third up and out the mile.

Try Pink (Race 7) is closing on the favourite at $3.20, more than a point-and-a-half shorter than her first price. She has placed at both previous fresh runs and the punters believe she can go well first up again.

October Tutu (Race 8) has tightened his grip on favouritism at $2.20 having tightened 60 cents early on. He has been a touch costly as a beaten favourite at his past three starts but continues to race well with four successive placings and steps back in grade.
