Missrock, who was having her first start since a good second in The Goodwood (Gr 1, 1200m) at Morphettville on 20 May, staged a good performance in winning here. She improved nicely along the rails in the early stages to settle in third place. Was under riding nearing the home turn but responded in the closing stages and finished a bit too well to score in good fashion. The favourite Heatherly was unsettled in the barriers, was slow to move but recovered from her good barrier (2) to move through to lead. She then travelled well, looked the winner when she got a break on turning for home, only wilting nearing the post for second in a sound first up effort. Lady Esprit raced in sixth place (on the rails), got along the inner at the home turn and kept fighting on to take the minor placing.
