Peter Gelagotis-trained colt Levendi is now the winner of two Group races from nine starts. Having his fourth run this preparation, he settled in fourth place (one out and one back), improved nicely (under riding by Mark Zahra), challenged strongly at the 200m and finished best to score narrowly but well. Godolphin-raced colt Astoria had a nice trip in third place, on the rails, got to the front at the 200m and kept battling strongly for second, beaten a long head. Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained colt Weather With You went to the front, was only overtaken at the 200m and then held on well for third after running a bold race. His stablemate Mongolian Marshal settled in sixth place, on the rails, got along the inner at the home turn and kept battling on for (2.1 lengths) fourth after seeming to have had every chance. Belfast settled in last place in the 15-horse field after starting from a wide barrier. He got along the rails halfway down the straight and caught the eye with his lateclosing (2.2 lengths) fifth.
