Team Hawkes-trained filly Sprightly Lass is building a most impressive record, now winning six (with two seconds) from eight starts and she followed her good win at Listed level at Caulfield on 21 April with a very good win in the Group Three here. She showed her usual pace from a wide barrier and travelled deep (without cover) in third place until nearing the home turn. She moved up well on straightening, hit the front at the 100m and went on to win well. The $41 chance One More Daisy, who has been racing consistently in weaker classes, went back from a wide barrier and after racing near the tail of the field, caught the eye with her late-closing second. The top weight (59.5kg) Santa Ana Lane raced in last place, was held up behind runners on straightening, got a late split and came with a good run to take third in a smart performance.
