Former Gold Coast Guineas (Gr.3, 1200m) winner Champagne Cuddles continues her consistent form with win 4 from 16 starts, which includes 10 placings. She got away well to settle third (rails) and held that position to the 600m where she eased away from the fence and ran up three wide to challenge. She co-led at the 300m, took over at the 200m and although hotly challenged, she never gave up the lead and held on bravely by a head. Cool Passion led to the top of the straight, was caught at the 200m and kept giving all the way to the post for a brave second. Alassio sat second to the top of the straight, challenged and co-led briefly then battled hard to the line to hold third. The winner's stablemate Egyptian Symbol was well back turning in and kept on quite well for fourth, beaten just over two lengths.
