THOROUGHBREDS
Has started short in the market last few starts but the horse remains on just the one win. Further, he has had four runs on a soft track for just the one placing, which suggest he is likely better placed on good tracks.
Eclipsion is now a six-start maiden who appears exposed versus a few on the way up. He was beaten in an easier race at Seymour last start and I've been surprised to see the racemorning support for him.
Randwick: Race 2; #4 Darling Downs
Good race, with reasonable speed in it. Taking on DARLING DOWNS who I feel has a negative race map here. Likes to get back and run on and think he may need some luck in running from the inside barrier if he does get too far back in running. Also needs to take a step up in grade now against tougher competition stepping up from maiden level now and mix that with the tricky map it could prove a tough ask.
GREYHOUNDS
Ballarat: Race 5; #2 Gayle Bale
Plenty of pressure off the mat here so Gayle Bale may struggle to get her usual front running pattern. I could see a situation where her and Dragonelle end up undoing each other as Dragonelle has a similar early pattern.
Ballarat: Race 10; #8 Up Hill Shiloh
Up Hill Shiloh may struggle to get a clean run across here. If No Bad Deed begins similar or better he may keep Up Hill Shiloh wide. Aston Amisha and Infra Rock are well drawn close to the rails and should get more economical runs.
