Best Bets for Easingwold Stakes Day at Ascot.
With the changes to Wednesday's Cup Day card, Ascot hosts 11 races on a big day of racing with the Easingwold Stakes the feature.
Track staff have pushed the rail out to the 8 metre position with the track rated a Good 4 as of Friday morning with a beautiful day forecast for racing.
If you can't make it to Ascot on Saturday, never fear because you can watch every moment of the action live and free on 7Plus and Racing WA.
Diving straight into the Best Bet of the day where I've landed on the Simon Miller-trained VALSASSINA in race five.
She bolted in first-up over the same track and trip, quickening sharply to run away and score by 2-1/2 lengths and clocking some good late splits in the process.
This is a tougher race, but the figures she produced to win first-up suggested she was back in top order and ready to work through the grades.
She's a winner second-up previously and she maps for a similar run on Saturday.
Already rates among the top chances in this race and with further improvement expected, she can be getting the job done in race five.
Looking to play early in the card again for my other play of the day.
STORMAGEDDON makes plenty of appeal in race two with a few things going his way on Saturday,
He closed off well to finish just behind Prophet And Power 21 days ago and he meets that galloper better at the weights this weekend, though the biggest tick for Stormageddon is the inside barrier.
The son of So You Think has drawn barriers 9 (twice) and 10 his past three outings which has seen him settle a long way back in the run.
He's shown in prior efforts that he can hold a spot from an inside barrier and with gate one on Saturday, I'm anticipating that he won't be giving his rivals the headstart he has been in recent efforts.
The Michael Grantham-trained gelding has been knocking on the door for a while now and he can bounce back to winning ways early on in the day.
