RANDWICK SATURDAY

RACE 2 (13) STEGGLER: Darren Weir can make a rare impact on Sydney racing with this import, having just his third start in Australia. He is a lightly-raced winner of two races over 1600m in the UK and looks very progressive coming off an excellent last start fifth at Moonee Valley where he ran on from well off the pace. Expect he will relish the big Randwick track.

RACE 7 (5) DOTHRAKI: High class sprinter races best fresh and is set to produce first-up after two excellent trials. He was second in the G1 BTC Cup at Doomben when fresh up in May and expecting something similar here with 2.5kg less weight (meets Japonisme 3.5kg better!). His course and distance stats are excellent and he should camp on the pace from an ideal barrier draw with the obvious speed drawn inside him.

RACE 8 (5) FEDERAL: Lot to like about his chances second-up at 1400m after closing late for his resuming second in the G3 Concorde over 1000m at this course on September 3. That effort showed again that he races best at Randwick where his record includes a win over this distance and he could not be better placed coming up with the rails draw and dropping 2.5kg from his first-up second.
