Blue Gum Farm has announced the 2020 fees for their two stallions. Manhattan Rain (Encosta De Lago) will stand his fourth season at the Victorian farm for $13,200 (inc GST), down from $16,500 in 2019. He has sired 13 stakes winners to date including Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner She Will Reign and South African Grade 1 winner Whisky Baron.
"What Manhattan Rain has already achieved is very exciting," said Blue Gum Farm principal Philip Campbell. "But what is around the corner for this stallion is even more exciting to us."
Manhattan Rain relocated to Blue Gum Farm in 2017 and his first Victorian crop sold for up to $310,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale last month.
The son of Encosta De Lago (Fairy King) will stand alongside Turffontein (Johannesburg) who will stand for $6,600 (inc GST), down from $8,800 in 2019. He has sired six stakes winners to date including his Group 2-winning daughters Fontein Ruby and Fontiton.
His Matt Cumani-trained son Khoekhoe (2 c ex Walvis Bay by Cape Cross) won Saturday's rich The Showdown (1200m) at Caulfield. The colt was bought by his trainer for $50,000 at last year's Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale and has now taken his record to two wins from three stars with earnings of $478,350.
