A week after his older brother Remarque resumed a winner at Randwick, Congregation will look to make it two wins in a week for sons of Snitzel and Response when he resumes on Saturday.

The valuable Chris Waller-trained colt will step out in the $250,000 Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) at Rosehill.

Congregation has not started since finishing eighth in the Group 1 J J Atkins at Eagle Farm in June, having won his only two starts prior.

He has drawn barrier 11 in the field that is down to 17 runners after two early scratchings, but Waller is committed to running the horse he has bigger targets for later in the campaign.

"He's a Caulfield Guineas horse," Waller said.

"(He's got a) tricky barrier, but he needs to run though and get started.

"He's come back well, he was a late bloomer in the autumn, he did a great job and he's come back in good shape."

Congregation is the seventh named-foal from dual Group 1 winner Response and he realised $2.25 million at last year's Inglis Easter Yearling Sale when bought by Tom Magnier.

Congregation is by Snitzel, as is Remarque, who landed a maiden Black Type win in last Saturday's Group 3 Concorde Stakes (1000m) when defeating Group 1 winners In Secret and Bella Nipotina.

They are among six Snitzel foals for Response, whose first trip to the Arrowfield stallion produced Estijaab, the 2018 Golden Slipper winner who was a $1.7 million yearling at Easter.

The sixth Snitzel foal was a colt who sold for $1.4m at Easter earlier this year and Response last spring gave birth to a colt by The Autumn Sun.

Congregation is one of four Ming Dynasty Quality runners or Waller, who also has Dundeel colt Tannhauser, Cap Ferrat – who is another $1.4m Snitzel colt – and The Autumn Sun colt Ashfall engaged.
