Racing and breeding fans will get a look at another youngster by a first-season sire at Warwick Farm on Wednesday with Darley stallion Microphone to have his first runner in the opening event.

Micro Magic, a filly trained by Marc Conners, will become the first to race of 56 live foals from the maiden crop of the Group 1-winning son of Exceed And Excel.

Microphone retired one of the highest-profile members of his stallion crop, having been crowned Australian Champion 2YO thanks to victory in the ATC Sires' (1400m) and a second placing in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m).

He won the Group 2 Autumn Stakes (1400m) and finished second in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) at three.

Micro Magic's preparations for her debut have included one public trial, a half-length second placing to Southern Charm over 812m at Warwick Farm on September 25 when she showed good speed and was strong late, albeit under riding.

Out of the Shamardal mare Holder Sunset, whose only other to race is two-time winner Mr Colorful (Headwater), the $60,000 Inglis Premier buy has drawn barrier four in the field of seven.

The other first-season sire represented is The Everest winner Yes Yes Yes, who is the sire of Brad Widdup-trained filly Maili, a $300,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling.

Yes Yes Yes had his first starter last Saturday, when Yes Yes Tess finished a narrow second in the $50,000 Moorundi Classic (900m) at Murray Bridge.

The daughters of the first-season sires have a hot favourite to contend with at Warwick Farm with the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Sovereign Hill – a $280,000 Inglis Classic daughter of Written Tycoon and Bramshaw mare Taraji, a half-sister to Music Magnate – dominating betting.
