Three youngsters paid-up as late entries for Blue Diamond
Three stables have forked out the $5500 first late acceptances fee to make juveniles within their care eligible for next year's $2 million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes.
Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr have paid up for Written Tycoon colt First Settler, while Annabel Neasham and the Melbourne Cup-winning stable of Anthony and Sam Freedman have entered two yet-to-be-named colts.
The Freedmans have entered a son of boom first-season sire Alabama Express and Cerberus Gal, while Neasham paid-up for a son of Capitalist and Miss Amarjardan.
They join 891 other youngsters in contention for the 1200-metre Blue Diamond Stakes, which next year returns to Caulfield after being run at Sandown for the first time earlier this year.
Some of the early stars of the two-year-old season, including Debutant Stakes winner Coleman, Maribyrnong Plate winner Dublin Down and Ottawa Stakes winner Karavas are also among the acceptors.
Chris Waller has almost 10 percent of the remaining entrants, with 84 youngsters paid-up for, while Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have 78, including Golden Slipper favourite Shangri La Express, with Ciaron Maher and David Eustace having 65 left in the running.
Defending champions Lindsay Park, who won last year with Little Brose, have 60 entries including brilliant Inglis Banner winner Bold Bastille.
Australia's premier stallion I Am Invincible is the most heavily-represented sire with 69, ahead of Written Tycoon (51) and Snitzel (47).
