Consensus has set a new Australasian online auction record when she was purchased by Yulong Investments for NZ$662,500.

Sells for NZ$662,500 to Yulong Investments. Consensus has set a new Australasian online auction record when she was purchased on Monday night by Yulong Investments for NZ$662,500 on gavelhouse.com.  

The daughter of Postponed won 11 of her 62 starts with highlights being victories in the Zabeel Classic (Group 1) and Sunline Stakes (Group 2). She was sold in foal for the first time to Haunui Farm shuttle Iffraaj who added to his Group 1 winners tally on Saturday when Wyndspelle took out the Captain Cook Stakes. 

Consensus is out of the 4-time winning Cape Cross mare Kate Cross from the family of Silver Baron who was Group 1 placed in the Australian Derby, Spring Champion Stakes and Adelaide Cup and she fetched considerably more than her NZ$375,000 reserve. 

"It's a privilege to be given the opportunity to present horses of Consensus' calibre to the market," said gavelhouse.com. general manager Haylie Martin. 

"There was plenty of interest in her from New Zealand and Australian clients right from the outset and this result demonstrates again that there really are no boundaries when it comes to presenting horses for sale online."

The second highest priced lot to have sold on gavelhouse.com. is Lubaya, who made NZ$255,000 in August. Consensus' dam Kate Cross sold in foal to Iffraaj 2 years ago for NZ$85,000.
