Curlin (Smart Strike) - who will be represented in Australia this season by his Grade 1-winning son Vino Rosso - was represented by his tenth Grade 1 winner on Saturday as his daughter Paris Lights (3 f ex Paris Bikini by Bernardini) landed the American Oaks (Gr 1, 9f) at Saratoga.

The William Mott-trained three-year-old filly beat Crystal Ball (Malibu Moon) by a head, with the pair pulling clear of Antoinette (Hard Spun), who finished four and three-quarter lengths away in third.

The filly is out of winning mare Paris Bikini (Bernardini) and is from the family of dual Grade 1 winner Blush With Pride (Blushing Groom).

Curlin stood at Hill ‘N’ Dale Farm for a fee of US$175,000 in 2020, while his Breeders' Cup Classic (Gr 1, 10f)-winning son Vino Rosso is about to embark on his first season at Spendthrift Farm where he will stand for an introductory fee of $13,750 (inc GST).

Meanwhile at Monmouth Park, Into Mischief (Harlan's Holiday) was handed his seventh Grade 1 winner when Authentic (3 c ex Flawless by Mr. Greeley) won the Haskell Stakes (Gr 1,9f).

Last sighted running second in the Santa Anita Derby (Gr 1, 9f), the Bob Baffert-trained colt bounced back to beat Ny Traffic (Cross Traffic) by a nose, while Dr Post (Quality Road) finished another four and a quarter lengths away in third.

Purchased by SF Bloodstock and Starlight West for US$350,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, the colt is from the same family Grade 1 winners Reynaldothewizard (Speightstown), Seventh Street (Street Cry) and American Gal (Concord Point).

Into Mischief stands at Spendthrift Farm in Kentucky where his fee in 2020 was advertised as US$175,000.
