17-year-old champion mare was in foal to Lane’s End Farm-based stallion Candy Ride
Zenyatta (Street Cry) has lost her filly foal by Lane’s End stallion Candy Ride (Ride The Rails).
"We at Team Zenyatta and Lane's End Farm are deeply saddened to share that Zenyatta lost her 2021 foal early this year," a post on Zenyatta.com reads.
"She had been carrying a second Candy Ride filly, and we grieve the loss of this precious life. Thankfully, Zenyatta remains in excellent health and is doing very well."
The 17-year-old daughter of Street Cry (Machiavellian) lives at Lane’s End Farm in Kentucky and has produced three named foals of which two have raced and she is yet to produce a winner. She foaled a filly by Candy Ride last year having not been served the previous season.
