Poet's Voice completed a Group 2 juvenile double for first-season sire Dubawi at Doncaster's St Leger meeting when landing this afternoon's Champagne Stakes.
The Saeed Bin Suroor-trained colt made most of the running to hold off Ballydoyle raider Viscount Nelson (a Giant's Causeway half-brother to Horatio Nelson) and the Superlative Stakes winner Silver Grecian (Haafhd), who finished third.
His victory comes hot on the heels of his stablemate and paternal half-sister Sand Vixen's triumph in yesterday's Flying Childers Stakes, which had given Dubawi his first Group winner.
Darley-bred Poet's Voice, who had finished third behind Elusive Pimpernel and Emerald Commander in the Acomb Stakes last time out, is the tenth foal out of theChief's Crown mare Bright Tiara, a sister to Grade 1 winner Chief Honcho.
His siblings include Japanese Group 1 runner-up Gold Tiara and lightly-raced two-year-old winner Swan Nebula.
He is one of 22 horses who have helped Dubawi to currently hold the position of leading first-season sire by number of indiviual winners.
