The first foal out of 1,000 Guineas heroine Speciosa, a colt by Oasis Dream, heads the 949 entries for the Tattersalls December Foal Sale, which will run from November 25-28.
The catalogue is 26 per cent smaller than last year's renewal and consequently has been reduced by a session to four days.
Last year's leading consignor, Trickledown Stud, will consign the colt out of Speciosa while heading Shanaville Stables' draft is a sister to Fillies' Mile runner-up Lady Darshaan. The last-named is also a half-sister to Prix de l'Abbaye winner Total Gallery.
Other entries of note include a sister to Fleeting Spirit, the half-brothers to German Oaks heroine Night Magic (by Oratorio), Misheer (by Exceed And Excel), Never On Sunday (by Dubawi) and Landseer (by Invincible Spirit), and the half-sisters to Lillie Langtry (by Hurricane Run), Kingsgate Native (by Cape Cross), Dragon Dancer (by Medicean) and Cockney Rebel (by Dansili).
Also entered are foals out of the high-class mares Ask For The Moon (by Galileo), Edabiya(by Manduro), Vintage Tipple (by Dubawi), Volvoreta (by Cape Cross) and Wannabe Grand (by Authorized).
Catalogued to make her second appearance in a sales ring this year is a Bahamian Bounty filly out of Listed winner Ripples Maid, who was sold alongside her dam for 132,000gns to David Redvers at the Tattersalls July Sale.
At last year's renewal, 562 foals changed hands for a total of 14,549,100gns and average of 25,888gns, which represented a decrease of 29 per cent from 2007. The median dropped by more than half to 8,750gns.
