Australian-bred Singapore star Zac Spirit won his second G1 Lion City Cup at Kranji on Sunday.
A son of Flying Spur and a graduate of Newhaven Park, Zac Spirit was the highlight on a big day for his former Victorian trainer Cliff Brown.
Zac Spirit, from the Group performed Quest for Fame mare Kidman, was knocked down for $95,000 at the 2010 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.He was then resold as a yearling in Sydney where Brown secured him for $140,000 for stable client Andy Wong.
Bred and sold by Newhaven Park, Zac Spirit has now won $S1.7 million from 11 wins and nine placings in 22 career starts.Zac Spirit won his first Lion City Cup in 2014 and was a beaten a nose into second place last year.
Brown sent Zac Spirit back to Australia for a spell between August and November last year with Sunday’s win only his second start since his return to Singapore.Zac Spirit's dam Kidman has had six foals to race for four winners including Singapore G3 winner Zac Influence, also bought and trained by Brown.
Kidman had a three-quarter-sister by Redoute's Choice to Zac Spirit last season and is currently in foal to Exceed And Excel.
