Captain Al took the sire honours on Scottsville’s Super Saturday with a G1 double by his two-year-olds he Secret Is Out and Always In Charge.
The Secret Is Out (Captain Al x Secret Of Victoria by Goldkeeper) scored a three quarter length victory in the G1 Allan Robertson Championship (1200m) for fillies over the Mike de Kock-trained Australian-bred filly Fursa (Hard Spun), becoming the 12th G1 winner by the son of Al Mufti.
The colt Always In Charge (Captain Al x Polar Charge by Polar Falcon) scored a three lengths victory in the G1 Gold Medallion (1200m) to become thee13th G1 winner by the Klawervlei Stud-based sire.Owned by Ingrid and Markus Jooste, Always In Charge beat Seattle Singer (Sail From Seattle) with a length and a half to Rivarine in third.
In the other G1 races at Scottsville the 4YO mare Real Princess (Trippi x Pagan Princess by Fort Wood) became the fifth G1 winner for the Drakenstein Stud son of End Sweep when she landed the G1 Fillies Sprint (1200m).Bred by Klawervlei Stud, Real Princess beat Fly By The Night (Jet Master) by one and a quarter lengths.
In the G1 Sun Sprint the 4YO Talktothestars (Overlord x Tellittothestars by Spaceship) scored a two and a quarter lengths from African Ruler (Trippi) to become the first G1 winner for his Australian-bred sire Overlord (Danehill).
