Workforce To STand In Ireland In 2017

Workforce, the Epsom Derby and Prix de l’Arc De Triomphe winner, is returning from stud bduty in Japan to stand as a dual-purpose sire at Knockhouse Stud in Ireland in 2017.

By the 2000 Guineas winner King’s Best out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Soviet Moon, the nine-year-old has been purchased from a Japan-based syndicate who will retain shares in the stallion.

Workforce raced only nine times for Sir Michael Stoute with his highloights being his Derby win by seven lengths and his Arc victory as a three-year-old.

Workforce raced four times as a 4YO with his best efforts being seconds in the G1 Eclipse Stakes and G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Sean Kinsella, owner of Knockhouse Stud, said: "He will be the first Derby or Arc winner to stand at Knockhouse Stud. He will put a lot of class into his runners.

“He was well-supported in Japan and has big crops on the ground there."

Workforce will join Notnowcato, Libertarian, September Storm and Prince Forli at the County Kilkenny stud.

DANSILI’s son Delegator has died of a suspected heart attack at Overbury Stud in the UK.

He was originally trained by Brian Meehan to win the G3 Craven Stakes and finish second in both the G1 2000 Guineas and G1 St James’s Palace Stakes as a three-year-old.

Purchased by Godolphin after the St James's Palace Stakes he won three times for Saeed Bin Suroor including in the G2 Duke of York Stakes at five.

Delegator’s first crop racing this year has yielded eight winners including the G3 winner Delectation.

FORMER shuttle sire Thewayyouare, a son of Kingmambo, will relocate to Haras de Corlay in France in 2017.

Thewayyouare commenced his stud career at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Kentucky before relocating to Coolmore Stud in Ireland.

He has most recently been standing at Gestut Romerhorf in Germany. He shuttled to Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand between 2010 and 2012.

WOODBINE International winner Cannock Chase will stand under the Worsall Grange management banner at Nunstainton Stud in the UK in 2017.

Bred from the Horse Chestnut mare Lynnwood Chase, he was a 310,000gns yearling at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2012 and won the G3 Tercentenary Stakes at Royal Ascot as a three-year-old, the G1 Woodbine International at four and the G3 Huxley Stakes at Chester in May at his last start this year as a 5YO.

SHAMARDAL’s G3 winner Lightning Moon, who has been retired to stand at Yeguada Torre Duero in Spain.

The five-year-old was trained by Ed Walker to win his first three starts including the G3 Bengough Stakes at Ascot in 2014.

He was subsequently sold to Godolphin, but remained with Walker and last year he finished second in the Listed Wentworth Stakes at Doncaster.

Lightning Moon is out of the winning Peintre Celebre mare Catch The Moon.
