Won Won Too, a son of Tavistock who went through the 2016 Ready to Run Sale at Karaka as Lot 112 for $200,000, beat his stablemate Rezealient (Sebring) by a long neck in a 1-2 finiosh for the Lindsay Park team.

David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig train Won Won Too (Tavistock x Celtic Dream by Casual Lies) for Hong Kong owner Eric Wong. He has now had seven starts for two wins and $111,915 prize-money.

Won Won Too, who was offered by Riversley Park at the Ready to Run Sale, is the 16th stakes winner by Tavistock, the son of Montjeu standing at Cambridge Stud.

Tom Dabernig said the gelding could be aimed at either the Queensland Derby or South Australian Derby.

"The sire Tavistock seems to get them over a trip and gets plenty of three-year-old classic winners so I think he could be an ideal Derby horse for one of those races,” said Tom Dabernig.

The Lindsay Park stable had more black type success at Randwick when the Shadwell-raced Futooh (Sebring x Golden Millennium by Dubawi) won the Listed China Horse Club Fernhill Handicap.

Futooh is Sebring’s 39th stakes winner that includes the G1 winners Dissident, Criterion, Egg Tart and Lucky Bubbles.

Futooh was purchased for $375,000 at last year’s Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

The Donna Logan and Chris Gibbs-trained 5YO gelding Richie McHorse won the Listed Hawke’s Bay Cup at Hastings to provide Arrowfield Stud’s champion sire Redoute’s Choice with his 154th stakes winner.

Won Won Too showed clear staying qualities with a tough win here, his second (maiden stakes) in seven starts. Rider Jordan Childs saved ground from the outset, settling handy (rails) with a lap to run. They lost some ground down the back but did not leave the fence until the 500m to get up in behind the leaders. Turning in he was blocked initially but at the 200m the split appeared. Childs pushed hard and the three-year-old ranged up, took over narrowly at the 100m and held on tenaciously for the long neck win. Rezealient had a lovely rails run from the 600m to be handy turning in, co led at the 200m and kept on doggedly to grab second from Han Xin who led turning in, co led at the 200m but was outstayed by the first two. High Energy was eighth and widest at the top of the straight and kept on well to land fourth.
