Commands mare Balmont became the 42nd stakeswinner for her sire when she overcame interference to win the Listed Nivison Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.
The Guy Walter trained mare is raced by her breeders Kooringal Stud and is the fourth winner of the Nivison prepared b y the Warwick Farm trainer.
Balmont was resuming and started as one of the outsiders of the field produced a stellar effort to score by a neck.
She is second new stakes winner for Commands in the space of a week after the Listed victory of two-year-old colt Jimando at Caulfield.
Balmont is by Commands from Grail Queen (Lake Consiton) and was retained by Wagga’s Kooringal Stud after she was passed in for $35,000 at the 2007 Inglis Classic Sale
Kooringal Stud has enjoyed past success with progeny by Commands, having bred and sold his G1 Winter Stakes winner Russeting.
Commands enjoyed a highly successful 2010-11 racing season as the leading sire of individual winners with a record of 155.
The son of Danehill has been represented by recent stakes winners Ambidexter, Lamasery and Rain Affair.
