John Singleton’s champion mare More Joyous is safely in foal to 10-time GI winner Frankel in the UK.
More Joyous (More Than Ready x Sunday Joy, by Sunday Silence) was sent to the UK in August with another Singleton-owned mare More Strawberries to be served to southern hemisphere time by Frankel at Banstead Manor Stud at Newmarket.
Singleton’s bloodstock manager Duncan Grimley said there had been no issues with More Joyous since she arrived at the Juddmonte-owned stud.
"It's all gone very smoothly. More Joyous has tested in foal while we are still waiting on More Strawberries,” Grimley said.
"They are booked to return to Australia in January on a charter flight that will include other horses bought from the December sales but if we can get them back sooner we will."
More Joyous retired with 21 wins from 33 starts including eight G1 victories, earning $4,572,450.
More Strawberries (More Than Ready x Milva by Strawberry Road) won four of her 19 starts and $841,700.
