The expectations held for the former Hong Kong star Akeed Mofeed at stud are coming to fruition with the South Australian-based sire represented by a notable double on December 22.

Akeed Mofeed, standing at Goldin Farms, was represented by the classy Flemington winner Poised To Strike and exciting sprinter Heart Conquered, who recorded his second successive Sydney win at Warwick Farm.

Akeed Mofeed’s oldest crop are only three and his starting to justify the faith placed him by stud owner Pan Sutong, who established Goldin Farms on the former Lindsay Park Stud at Angaston in South Australia and races the majority of his progeny in Australia.

The son of Dubawi is steadily climbing the sire lists, having 19 runners to date this season for seven winners of 10 races.

The G1 Australian Guineas and $5 million All-Star Mile are being considered for Poised To Strike by the Hayes/Dabernig stable.

"He's got class and speed," said David Hayes. "He missed the spring on purpose and I really think he'll be a contender in the autumn."

"The CS Hayes is a race that is dear to my heart that I haven't been able to win yet - that looks the logical option.

"He's a Guineas horse and he'd be the perfect horse for that race."

Consistent Victorian stallion Magnus sired his 16th stakes winner when the Mick Price-trained Princess Of Queens won the Listed Christmas Handicap at Morphettville on December 22.

The 5YO Princess Of Queens (Magnus x Tristabeel by Zabeel) is a sister to Price’s former stakes-winner Prince Of Brooklyn and stakesplaced Duke Of Brunswick and has now won six of her 22 starts for $335,000 prizemoney.

Bred by Chris Marks, Princess of Queens is the fifth foal out of Tristabeel, who clearly has an affinity with Magnus having produced three stakes horses from three matings with the son of Flying Spur.

Magnus, who stands at Sun Stud, is also the sire of G1 winners Malaguerra, Magnifisio and Great Shot.

He is enjoying another stellar season with 50 individual winners and in excess of $2.2 million on the board in 2018/19. Last season he had 103 individual winners and over $6 million in stakes.

Another Sun Stud sire Squamosa is the sire of the impressive young sprinter Order Of Command, an electrifying winner of his fourth race from 10 starts at Flemington on Saturday.

Already stakes placed behind boom sprinter Nature Strip, Order Of Command is the second named foal out of the Commands mare Commanding Angel.

Outstanding Redoute’s Choice mare Galaxy Star added to her stud value with her classy win in the G2 Ted Van Heemst Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.

The G1 Railway Stakes winner is near and dear to the heart of her owner-breeder Bob Peters as her dam Galaxy Queen (Jeune x Lady Ashford) died after producing only two foals.

Her first foal was Galaxy Son (Statue Of Liberty) who claimed five wins and Peters is looking to Galaxy Star to enhance the family when she goes to stud.

“I thought Galaxy Queen was going to be one of our best broodmares,” Peters said. “Because she died I have been very careful with this mare.

“She had a few issues early on and we gave her plenty of time to grow out of them. I think she will go on to be one of my leading broodmares.”

Galaxy Star has 11 wins and four placings from her 15 starts for prize money of $1,309,000.

The 5YO mare Fontainebleau landed her second stakes race with a tough win in the Listed Starstruck Classic at Ascot ion Perth.

The Lindsey Smith-trained Fonatainebleu (Alfred Nobel x Aunt Lydia by Serheed) is one of two stakes winners for her sire Alfred Nobel, who stands at Western Australia's Lynward Park Stud.
