Signposted (Race 1) was one of two joint favourites early on but now stands alone at the head of the market at $2.15. He is in flying form winning his last three in the trot and although back in trip on his last two outings and he has won both attempts on heavy going.

Dubaiinstyle (Race 2) is another putting together a sequence of wins and is shooting for a hat trick of successes today. The punters believe he can do it and have him a clear top pick at $1.90. He bolted in two runs back then had to find plenty to win last time and he is another that has been enjoying the rain-affected tracks.

High Mist (Race 3) is challenging for favouritism at $3.80. He comes into this with the joint highest last-start rating and has been racing through the winter so has the fitness edge on some of these.

Assurity (Race 4) opened at double figure odds but has been a steady firmer, still offering good each way odds at $6.50. She ran a career best rating when a close second at Beaumont last time on the back of back to back wins and looks a mare on the rise.

Tsaritsa (Race 5) is a classy mare resuming and looks well placed in benchmark after winning the Group 2 Queensland Guineas last preparation. That was one of three successive wins and the punters are looking for her to pick up where she left off, backing her in to $2.80 with TopBetta fixed odds.

Awoke (Race 6) was unbeaten in two runs as a juvenile and although taking a big step up in class she has caught the attention of punters who have backed her in to $5.50 after opening at a double figure quote. Both of her wins came on soft tracks and she is expected to hit the line hard first up.

Hidden Pearl (Race 9) is another big mover, in to $3 from a double figure quote. She arrives in Sydney with terrific Brisbane form, winning both runs this campaign by handy margins and the ratings suggest she can measure up to these with a pull in the weights.

Felines scored a good win after enjoying a perfect trip. She settled in fifth place on the rails from her good barrier (2) and got through on the inner to be third at the home turn. She took the lead at the 200m and then fought back to win well. Federal settled back in second last place in the eight-horse field, went widest of all nearing the 300m, sprinted quickly to challenge at the 200m and then fought well for a good first up second. Craftiness showed his customary pace and settled outside the leader (Hidden Pearl). He challenged strongly at the 200m but tired a little on his effort, holding on for a sound third at his first run this preparation. The favourite Japonisme disappointed in his return to racing, possibly being affected by carrying his top weight (60kg) in the Heavy8 conditions. He had a good trip in fifth place, between runners, but did not run on as expected in the straight to finish (6.9 lengths) sixth.
