Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Thursday’s meeting at Muswellbrook.

Macmissile (Race 1) is challenging for favouritism at $2.50 after firming more than a point in early betting. He was a close up second over 2200m last time so should be bothered by the extra 100m and both of his career wins have come at this track.

The Baker (Race 2) has taken over at the head of the market at $1.90, which is the best part of two points shorter than his opening quote. He was runner up when resuming at this course and distance at just his second career run so can improve in terms of both fitness and experience.

Frank's Reward (Race 3) could be worth an each way ticket at $7 after firming nine points in early betting. He made some ground to finish midfield when resuming at this course and distance and is expected to improve second up.

Zarabeel (Race 5) had been racing consistently without winning but broke through in emphatic fashion last time with a huge win by over 10L at Armidale. The punters believed she can go on with the job, backing her in 60 cents as a warm $2 favourite.

Mister Marmalade (Race 6) is close to joining the top line of betting at $3.50 having shortened 70 cents early. He resumes after closing his last campaign with a maiden win at Dubbo and should be ready to fire off a recent Wyong trial placing.
