Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Sunday’s meeting at Stony Creek.
Broadstone (Race 2) has taken over as favourite at $2.45 with steady backing seeking him firm a full point early. The son of Bel Esprit is on debut for Mick Price and Craig Newitt and the punters like that combination.
Birds of Tokyo (Race 4) could be worth an each way ticket at $5.50 having more than halved her opening price in early betting. The mare resumes and is better known over further but has a touch of class and the punters are looking for her to sprint well fresh.Artie's Gold (Race 5) open as one of the outsiders but is now a $6 chance with steady support seeing him firm close to 12 points. He has been down the track at his last few but won his latest attempt at this distance four starts back and the market push must be respected.
Adirondack (Race 7) is a well-supported market elect at $1.90 for the Stony Creek Cup having opened as favourite and shortened 40 cents since. He has placed at two of three runs this time in including a last-start second in the Cranbourne Cup and was runner up in this race last year.Bob's Hope (Race 8) is challenging for favouritism at $3.40 having halved his opening quote. He closed off well for third at Seymour last time so should be suited up to the mile and ready to peak third up.
