Vienna Miss caused a major upset with a strong win here, her rider Kate Mallyon jumping the filly away smartly from barrier seven to be handy, one out, when they settled. She drifted a shade passing the 1000m yet one out and one back saw her in a good spot. Mallyon pushed forward at the 600m and into the straight challenged the leader three out. Inside the 150m she took over and held on gamely to the line, her second win and maiden stakes win. Favourite Petition was second last at the 1000m, fourth last before straightening, pulled widest and ran home very strongly, just failing to pick up the winner. Chapel City made his run from the 600m, had a lot of work to do turning in but ran on well, just losing second in the last stride from Hussybay, who waited for a rails run turning in and ran on late to grab fourth.
