Eoghan O'neill is considering running Group 3 winner Broox in the 2,000 Guineas, but will only decide after seeing how he fares in an exercise under Olivier Peslier next month.
Broox became O'Neill's first Group winner since he moved to France when capturing the Prix d'Arenberg in September. The colt was also fourth in the Group 1 Prix Morny and second in the Prix Ropert Papin.
O'Neill, who trains near Le Mans, had regarded Broox - 25-1 with Stan James for the Guineas - as a sprinter, but has made an entry in the Newmarket Classic, in which he saddled Vital Equine to finish second to Cockney Rebel in 2007.
"Olivier is coming down to ride him work in a couple of weeks so we will know what is going on and whether the 2,000 Guineas is a realistic possibility for him or not then," O'Neill said.
"If he goes there he will go straight there. Oliver Peslier will stay on Broox. If he runs in the 2,000 Guineas he will be riding him this year."
The Guineas went to France last year when Makfi triumphed, while Special Duty completed a clean sweep by winning the 1,000 Guineas.
