Last weekend Longchamp hosted the biggest weekend of French Flat racing action. AuteuilCompiegneArgentan and more also feature in this week's Weekly Round Up.

Two-year-old son of KodiacEl Bodegon took a step forward on his second French outing to win the Chantilly feature last Wednesday and record a second career success in four starts. The colt looks progressive and may have more to offer for the three year old campaign for the UK trainer.

Iris de Montmartre remained unbeaten and followed up a Le Lion-d'Angers debut success last week at Fontainebleau and made most of the running. The filly showed a game attitude to fend off rivals and may have further progress to come.

Two-year-old son of FrankelDreamflight caught the eye last Friday at Saint-Cloud when winning for the first time racing third up in his career. He showed a good attitude fighting out the finish in what became a busy conclusion of the race with the field sandwiched to the far side rail. Irrespective, the colt maintained a short head advantage to score. Trained by Andre Fabre, he can make his presence felt in the upcoming G1 Criterium International (1600m) later this month.

Jupyra bounced back to best form gaining a fourth career success in ten outings. Gérald Mossé had the four-year-old filly in a great position tracking the leader on the inside throughout and the gap luckily appeared when Angel Power could not accelerate any more. She now holds winning Black type status.

The Godolphin owned colt looked impressive when traveling strongly and was the last to come under pressure. He showed good acceleration in the final 200m indicating some smart ability in the closing stages. This son of Invincible Spirit now holds a 50% overall career strike rate of three wins from six attempts.

Three-year-old colt, Bel Aristo found success for the second time on his sixth career outing last Friday as he followed up a maiden 2900m Clairefontaine win. Powering down the home straight with Good Question, the pair pulled clear of the rest and fought out the finish of the rain-softened ground. He could progress to become a handy stayer.

Three-year-old gelding son of Sea The StarsManobo showed a devastating turn of foot in the home straight pulling clear and dominating the finish for take Group Two glory at Longchamp. He led home stablemate Kemari to give Godolphin a one-two. The gelding remains unbeaten after two UK victories and a win on French debut last month at Saint-Cloud in the Listed Prix Turenne (2400m). A progressive and likeable type.

Godolphin's afternoon kept getting better as Frankie Dettori won with Real World recording a four timer after success at multiple venues including Royal Ascot (UK), Newbury (UK) and York (UK). He was previously running well in the UAE at Meydan. The four-year-old colt only just lasted as The Revenant came flying late (a previous winner of the race) passing the German trained third Novemba.

Dubai Honour produced a hat trick of wins when showing an eye-catching powerful run in the middle of the home straight to take victory. The three-year-old gelding picked up well and came with a strong late effort to win. He has been progressive this season with success at Newmarket (UK) in a 2000m heritage handicap before proving successful in the Deauville G2 Prix Guillaume d'Ornano (2000m) in August. He is highly promising.

Want of a Nail recorded a seventh career success winning last week by a half-length from Garasil. The five-year-old daughter of Kapgarde followed up her Auteuil hurdle victory which came four weeks prior. The mare continues to be consistent having only missed the placings three times from twenty starts.

This is his second Black Type triumph after winning the course and distance Listed Prix le Parisien handicap hurdle (3600m) two runs ago in May.

Ampia Mede Sm, a five-year-old mare continued her excellent run of form over recent months to produce a fifth consecutive win, three coming at Vincennes and two at Enghien. This was a third Group Three success on the trot after winning the G3 Prix de Provence (2700m) and the G3 Prix de Montier-en-Der (2850m).

Six-year-old, Fire Cracker took the latest round of the Grand National du Trot competition to gain a sixteenth career victory. Fire Cracker has been lightly raced in recent months but has already found success in this series winning at Le Croisé-Laroche at the end of May. As with the previous campaign he might be a name to keep in mind during the Vincennes Winter Meeting.
