Although Just A Gigolo is not a horse flying under the radar, the unbeaten juvenile impressed many with a comfortable victory in the first Group contest for two-year-olds of the year at Vincennes on Friday 29 October.
The colt led from start to finish and only needed a small burst of speed at the final turn to secure a comfortable victory against tiring rivals. He recorded a kilometre rating of 1'16"4 for his third straight success at Vincennes. It was trainer Philippe Allaire's fifth victory in the Prix Louis Cauchois within the last seven years. Although the next target has not yet been identified for Just A Gigolo, the colt is expected to step up in grade and will be an exciting prospect for his three-year-old season.
Just A Gigolo is beautifully bred by Boccador de Simm, the lightly raced G1 Prix Albert Viel winner. On his dam side, he is out of Blue Valentine and therefore a half-brother to the G1 St Leger des Trotteurs victor Ici C'est Paris. Blue Valentine is a grand-daughter of Fine Perle, successful in the 1996 G1 Prix des Elites at Vincennes.
