Statistic Of The Week of French Trotting News - 14th January 2022.
This Sunday will see the G2 Prix de Belgique (2850m) take the limelight at Vincennes. This is the final opportunity for horses to qualify for the G1 Prix d'Amerique in two weeks. The first three over the line will be offered a place in the final field.
At the current entries stage this year indicates another quality renewal featuring the likes of last year's winner: Davidson du Pont, along with Zacon Gio, Ampia Mede SM, Delia Du Pommereux, and Bahia Quesnot.
Although no horse has completed the G2 Prix de Belgique (2850m) and G1 Prix d'Amérique (2700m) double since Bold Eagle in 2016, horses have followed up in the G1 Grand Prix de France (2100m) and G1 Prix de Paris Marathon Race (4150m). As shown in the table below Bird Parker went on to succeed in the 2018 G1 Prix de Paris Marathon Race (4150m), whilst Belina Josselyn managed the same double in 2020. It is also worth noting that 2012 G1 Prix d'Amérique (2700m) winner Ready Cash placed third in the G2 Prix de Belgique (2850m).
