Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Maidens with four of the eleven racing for the first time. We'll side with experience though and (5) RUN WILD, who raced twice across the turn of the year with a very close 2nd on debut at this distance followed by a midfield finish over 1300M. He trialled up fairly at the end of May settling back from a wide draw before running on and back at 1200M first up, can win. The best of the debut makers is (3) COING. It took him two trials – in consecutive weeks – to qualify, but he was much better in the second of them, winning it ahead of none other than Run Wild, leading all the way. He draws nicely and can put in a bold showing from the front here. (7) WITH DIS KURO ran 3rd on debut at this distance in April. It wasn't a quick race but nine weeks on, he can have derived benefit from the experience and should be in this (2) SAEROUN GUY is next best but after that it is a struggle to make a case for another. Perhaps (6) COMMAND BLUE who trialled fairly could sneak a minor money finish.

Selections (5) Run Wild (3) Coing (7) With Dis Kuro (2) Saeroun Guy

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(11) MR. POWER enters off a much-improved 3rd place over this distance back in March when slow out and coming from well off the pace. He has had fifteen weeks off since then, so he comes in fresh, the wide draw won't matter, and with Moon Se-young climbing up for the first time, today can be the day. (5) KHAS was a useful 4th on debut back in April. He has since been back to trial, coming through it in fine style, and he can be a danger here. (6) HANGANG CAPTAIN has shown progress across his three outings to date, most recently a 5th place on May 25th over this distance. That was his first appearance since January, and he can strip fitter here. (2) SMART NOTION and (9) YEONGWON GIANT are others in the hunt.

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Maidens with four of the eleven racing for the first time. (2) BINNANEUNGIL has raced four times, all of them last year and registered a 2nd place and three 4th place finishes despite racing very erratically on a couple of occasions. He has since been gelded and returns here having trialled up well in April. With better manners, he will take some beating. (8) SKY ARCH will be the second favourite. While only ordinary in her latest, she has a 2nd and a 3rd to her name as recently as April and she can settle back and be a danger late on here. Best of the first timers is (3) OASIS GREEN. She went through two trials, improving significantly in the second (which as a voluntary trial, may not appear in all racecards) when on pace and crossing the line 3rd in a fair time. From a good gate she can be on pace and in this a long way first-up. (6) WHITE OIL similarly trialled well enough and can be considered. (4) BORA CHAMP another of the experienced ones who can go well.

Selections (2) Binnaneungil (8) Sky Arch (3) Oasis Green (6) White Oil

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies (and one mare) only here. (7) GREEN VIVACE enters off a 3rd place in a similar class and distance filly only race on May 18th when she drew gate ten and worked hard to get on pace. She comes up slightly in the weights but into a better gate and in this company should get a much easier run to the front and can win. That will mean overturning the form on (9) GANGCHEOL YEOGEOL, who won that May 18th race coming from off the pace. She comes up a full 4kg in the weights, but she warrants respect here. (6) BIG BRIDGE is yet to win but comes up in class following back-to-back runner-up finishes at 1200M and under a light weight she can measure up in this company. (5) TESTA RUBY and (3) BEAUTYWONDERFUL, also both up in class, are others in the hunt.

Selections (7) Green Vivace (9) Gangcheol Yeogeol (6) Big Bridge (5) Testa Ruby

Busan Race 2: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Small but competitive field. (6) CHEONHA SARANG is yet to win in five but comes in having run a close 3rd over 1300M in his first try at this class on April 19th. He comes up 3kg in the weights in the absence of an apprentice claim, but Choi Si-dae climbs up and the colt has run well at this distance before. (1) OVER ENERGY is the main danger. The same apprentice who rode Cheonha Sarang last time gets on, keeping his weight similar to when he ran 2nd in a quick race at 1300M at this class on May 12th. He'll be on pace and in this a long way. (3) DOCTOR WICKY is the other winning chance. He defied long odds to run 2nd at 1300M on May 26th having briefly led in the straight and warrants more respect today. (2) NAMDO ILDEUNG and (7) ZET CASH are the other placing chances.

Selections (6) Cheonha Sarang (1) Over Energy (3) Doctor Wicky (2) Namdo Ildeung

Seoul Race 4: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

It's about time (5) RAON THE MAN returned to winning ways. Having won two of his first four to get promoted to this level, he is zero for five at class 4. He hasn't run badly though with two 2nd places and two 3rd places and with CC climbing on, today can be his day. (1) CHAMJOEUN JILJU is the main danger. She comes in having beaten three of these on her way to 2nd place behind Baden Baden at this class and distance on May 18th when slightly slow away from a wide gate and then racing on pace. She carries the same light weight today but draws much better, and she should be in the finish. After two ordinary efforts at this level, (2) PURGE KING ran an improved 2nd when only narrowly defeated at class and distance on May 11th. He comes into a better gate today and Harry Kasim, who rode him for the first time that, day stays on. (9) YONGAM MARENGO and (8) DAEBAK STAR others in the frame.

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies only here and it's wide open. (5) HANEUL HAETSAL was 2nd over 1200M at this class on May 24th, racing just behind the speed throughout. An apprentice claiming 2kg stops her weight from going up by anything more than a token amount, and she can go one better. (8) SAVAGE GIRL was a winner at class 6 level distance two starts back and while she finished down the field on her first try at this level, she looks nicely in here and could make for some appeal at a probable each-way price. (3) DYNAMIC WINNER was 3rd at this class in a quick race over 1200M on May 12th coming from off the pace and can be a danger here. (7) RAID HIT and (9) SAENAE HIT among plenty of others in the frame.

Seoul Race 5: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(7) ARGO MUJEOK was a winner at this class and distance three starts back and has since run a close 2nd and then 4th, the latter time beating a couple of today's rivals. He carries his fair share of weight, but he should be on pace and is the one to beat. (8) SEOCHEON LION comes in having won back-to-back races over 1300M at class 5 level, both times from on the pace. He comes up in class here but is down 2kg in the weights, and he can measure up. (3) WORLD VARIANCE is an import who began at this level and looks like he could be figuring things out with a 4th and a 3rd from his latest two. He has got a bit far back in his races but draws well and doesn't carry much weight. (10) JEDI FORCE and (2) BYEOLNARA BIMA others in the hunt.

Busan Race 4: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(3) GEUMA HUGE HIT will be the hot favourite. She has thrived since being stepped up to 1800M, winning at it at class 5 level three starts back and then finishing 6th (but beating a couple of today's rivals) and then 2nd in two attempts at this level. She remains fairly weighted, she draws well, and should prove hard to beat. (7) GASOK JEIL has a 2nd and a 4th from his latest two, both at this class and distance and both times overcoming gate ten. Drawing better here, he can be close again. (6) BUDDY BUDDY enters off a 4th and a 3rd from his latest two, coming from off the pace and he can be doing his best work late on again. (5) HAPPY BLUE and (4) DUBAI PYEONGJEONG other place chances.

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(3) GANGNAMBULCHUNGGAK won his first two starts in fine stye before being surprisingly beaten on his third outing when stepped up to a mile in February. He then took his chance in the first leg of the Triple Crown, the KRA Cup Mile, and finished back in the pack before running 2nd on his return to shallower waters at this class over 1700M on May 11th. In this company, despite the 3kg weight rise, he should have too much and return to winning ways. (1) LAST PITCH has won two of his latest three, most recently at this class and distance on May 5th and while up in the weights, shapes as the main danger here. (5) J MOTION led for much of the way over 1400M last time out, ultimately finishing 3rd, and should be on pace and a place chance today. (2) VIKING HEART and (8) KING DIA among others in the frame.

Selections (3) Gangnambulchunggak (1) Last Pitch (5) J Motion (2) Viking Heart

Busan Race 5: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(7) MOTO MOTO opened his career with four straight wins but returned from a couple of months out to run down the field first-up in the KRA Cup Mile. He dropped back to this distance and this class to run 2nd on May 10th, beating a couple of today's rivals and while he is up 2kg in the weights, he looks ready to win again here. (5) GEUMA DEFT is the main danger. He enters off a very narrow reverse to favourite Northern Bid in a big trophy race over this distance on April 14th when he led for much of the way around and as a two-time winner at 1200M, has every chance. (2) NICE DAY mixes his form but based on his 2nd place in a quick race at this class and distance two starts back, must be a place chance. (3) GOLDEN and (6) SEONGSIL SIHWA others to consider.

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(3) BROWN GOLD won back-to-back races in March and April over 1700M to get rapidly promoted to this class. He was a touch slower away than usual on his class 4 debut over this trip on May 12th and ultimately only beat a couple home. He is better than that though and from a nice draw and with a better start getting him to the lead, he is more than worth another chance here. That will mean overturning the form on (5) SIMPLE STYLE, who was 3rd in that race, come from off the pace. An apprentice keeps his weight down and that should make him competitive again here. (2) JEONGSANG KINGDOM comes in off two 5th place finishes at 1800M and 1700M and from a good gate can be in the mix. (8) GENTLE YARA and (6) HOLIDAY CHARM others in the frame.

Busan Race 6: Class 2 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

It's hard to go past (1) WORLD LEGEND. His win record doesn't really reflect his ability, but he enters off a smart 2nd place over 1400M in a quick time on May 26th when racing on pace. He is up slightly in the weights but comes into a better gate and two of the three wins he does have, came at this distance. (5) ATLAS was well back in that May 26th race, but prior to that was a strong 2nd in a Trophy race over 1800M in April. She too doesn't have the kind of win record that reflects her ability, but she can be close today. Also coming out of that May 26th race is (7) TOP FIRE. Running 4th, he continued his recent record of exceeding expectations, and can ne there or thereabouts again. (8) CLEAR and (6) DOCTOR FAITH other placing possibles.

Seoul Race 8: Class Open (2000M) Special Weight A / Minister's Cup (KOR G2) / KRW 700 Million

The final three-year-old Classic and while there is no Triple Crown on the line, a full field of sixteen, all tackling 2000M for the first time makes for a fascinating puzzle. (4) HANGANG CLASS was last year's Champion Juvenile and came from off the pace to run 3rd in the Cup Mile and then 4th in the Derby, having drawn the outside gate in the latter. He comes into a much better gate today and the step up to 2000M can suit. (12) SUCCESS BAEKPA won the Cup Mile and was finishing as well as any in the Derby, running 3rd. He is another who can enjoy the extended trip. One at longer odds will be (2) FANTASTIC FIELD. He joins the Triple Crown trail here having taken a different route but his 2nd place last start at class 3 level over 1800M was arguably as good as any of these have produced when 2nd to the unbeaten import Sky Wind having led almost the entire way and going down less than a length. He draws well to be on pace again and should be at least each-way odds. (9) WORLD DRAGON skipped the Cup Mile but was an on-pace 2nd in the Derby and a big run can be expected again. It may be a hard ask for 47/1 Derby winner (7) EUNPA SARANG to repeat, but having come from off the pace, the distance can suit, and he shouldn't be dismissed. (1) NICE TIME is another who will be right in the market.

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(1) BEST TORCH is the one to beat here. She was a winner first-up after six months off at this class over 1200M on March 24th, before running 5th on May 12th. She comes up to the 1400M for the first time, draws well, and in this company, she may take some beating. (4) RIVER TAEYANG comes in off an ordinary last start, but prior to that ran 2nd at this class and distance and under a light weight and good gate, can be a danger here. (8) GEOSEN BANGYEOK is up in class having run a close 2nd in a quick race over 1300M back at the end of March. He comes in here fresh off an eleven-week layoff, he comes down a full 5kg in the weights, and he has won at this trip already. (2) TOP CLASS and (3) THE SPIKER are the other place chances.

(5) MILLION PARTY is a winner of four from nine so far, including her latest two, both over this distance and most recently at this class in a fast time on May 12th when he raced handy and proved too strong. He only comes up 1.5kg in the weights and will be favoured to complete his hat-trick here. (1) BLACK CHOCOLATE is the only non-filly or mare in the race. It's been seven starts since his latest win, but he has been close, including a last start 2nd at this class at 1400M. He draws well, an apprentice jockey means he gets in at a light weight, and he can be a danger. (7) CONCORD QUEEN comes up in class after a smart runner-up finish over this distance on May 11th and can measure up. (3) JEDI and (2) APEX both need their respective last starts forgiven but are capable in this company.

(8) WONPYEONG LIST was an also ran in the first two legs of the Triple Tiara at a mile and 1800M but comes back into a class and distance at which she won back in February. She carries a light weight and given the small field the widest gate shouldn't be a disadvantage. (5) GEUMA FIERY is the main danger. He was a class and distance winner two starts back before running 2nd over a mile on May 12th. He carries his fair share of weight today but should be close. (6) FRESH MAN is up in class following a win over 1300M on May 12th taking his record to four wins from eight starts. He comes up to this distance for the first time but is down 4.5kg in the weights and should measure up. (1) M J BEST and (4) DIA KEY others to consider.
