Classy sprinter Won't Stop returned to winning form with an all-the-way victory in the $75,000 Kranji Stakes C over 1100m on the Polytrack on Sunday.

Ridden by Benny Woodworth, Won't Stop held off a determined challenge to score by a length-and-a-quarter over Finderskeepers (Shafiq Rusof) with Squall Line (Soo Khoon Beng) a length-and-three-quarters back in third place.

Woodworth had to drive hard on Won't stop to take up the lead over Squall Line and Hammer Down (C S Chin) before being able to get a slight breather coming off the back.

Turning for home Won't Stop booted clear and opened up a winning margin, although for a few strides near the 200m Finderskeepers looked a chance of running down the $9 favourite.

Won't Stop notched his third win from his last five starts and continued the good form of trainer Leslie Khoo who has landed his 61st winner for the season, placing him on the same number of winners as trainer Steven Burridge in third place but on a countback sits in fourth spot.

A former Malaysian galloper, Won't Stop was ridden by Joao Moreira at his first two wins in Singapore but with Moreira sidelined through suspension Khoo had no hesitation in calling on Woodworth for the mount.

Woodworth had ridden the gelding to success in Malaysia previously as well as finishing second in three rides aboard the sprinter.

“I had no hesitation calling on Benny to take the ride,” said Khoo. “He's has had a good association with the horse previously.

“We didn't think about claiming on the horse as when the weights came out most of the horses were weighted on a similar weight.

“It's been a very good effort by him today to win with that weight, especially as he had to be used up early.”

Khoo said he would keep Won't Stop to the shorter trips in further. He had been freshened after his third placing behind The Comedian over 1400m on October 23.

“He just found the 1400m a bit far for him last time,” said Khoo.

“He also loves the Polytrack having won on the track now three times.

“His work on Tuesday morning was very good and we went into this race feeling confident.”

A four-year-old Australian-bred by Testa Rossa from the Celestial Dancer mare No Say, Won't Stop landed his fifth win from 11 starts with a further three minor placings and took his prizemoney past the $200,000 for Leong Phooi Yee with his success on Sunday.
