It was the colt's 11th straight success since his arrival in Singapore after doing his early racing in New Zealand.

Starting the pronounced $6 favourite, Super Easy, under Joao Moreira, scored a runaway four-length victory over Yin Xin (Ivaldo Santana) with Captain Obvious (Oscar Chavez) a length-and-three-quarters away third.

Super Easy's victory now places him within one success of Better Than Ever's streak of 12 consecutive wins in Singapore.

The race panned out perfectly for Super Easy after jumping from the inside barrier. Captain Obvious applied the pressure to Yin Xin and Moreira was content to settle in third position on the favourite.

Coming around the turn Moreira edged out away from the fence to give the colt plenty of galloping room and Super Easy quickly had the two leaders under control.

Trainer Michael Freedman admitted to some nerves prior to the race but added that was more because of the number of wins the colt had strung together on the trot.

“My wife (Anna) says that I am a pessimist,” said Freedman. “The more wins you have on the trot the more you worry about things not working out.

“It is always a concern coming back to the 1200m after running at 1600m last time and that did have me worried as there were some very good sprinters in the field.

“But this horse has a great turn of foot and today I would say that was probably one of his more dominant wins.

“He's just a great horse to train. He can camp on them in a six furlong race or you can ride him back over a mile and he can still get over them.

“I've been involved with a lot of great horses over the years including back home in Australia, but this horse would be right up there with them.”

Freedman said in the short-term there were no immediate plans to travel internationally with the colt with the owners wishing to stay in Singapore.

He said Super Easy would likely to progress to the Group 3 Jumbo Jet Trophy over 1400m on September 2 and then the Group 1 Kranji Mile over 1600m on October 7.

And if he showed that he can run 1800m then the Group 1 Raffles Cup on October 21 would certainly be a consideration.

“The Jumbo Jet and the Kranji Mile are his next two likely targets with the Raffles Cup a possibility,” said Freedman.

“And if his form warrants it then we would consider going to Hong Kong at the end of the year for the International Mile race.”

Moreira also described Super Easy's victory as “one of his best” after showing a devastating turn of foot and breaking the 1 min 10 secs barrier in the process.

“He was great today,” said Moreira. “The fast pace suited him but he relaxed very well in the race.

“I got him to the outside in the straight and gave him plenty of room. He just carried me forward to the line.

“I'm just the lucky guy who gets to sit on top of this horse but today I would say that was one of his best wins.”

A New Zealand-bred by Darci Brahma from the Gold Brose mare Parfore, Super Easy took his prizemoney to in excess of $1.25 million for the Joy N Happiness Stable with the victory.
