Leading Summerveld trainer Dennis Drier has arrived in Cape Town with a team of 22 horses set for the rich summer season.
Drier’s team for the ‘Summer of Champions’ is led by the reigning KZN Horse Of The Year Beach Beauty.
The team also includes exciting four-year-old Master Of My Fate, classic hopeful Captain Of All, the lightning quick mare Schiffer, Jet Aglow, Captain On The Run, Eternal Jet, Chave De Oura, Barbosa, Eventual Angel, Torra Bay and Zhivago.
The six-year-old mare Beach Beauty is expected to target a second win in the G1 Maine Chance Farms Paddock Stakes over 1800m and the G1 Klawervlei Majorca Stakes over 1600m as opposed to the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate and the J&B Met.
Jet Aglow, who joined the Drier yard late last season, is also also likely to be aimed at those two races.
The 4YO was placed in three successive G1 races last summer in the Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas, Paddock Stakes and the Majorca before finishing second in the G2 KRA Fillies Guineas in her only start in KZN.
