Godolphin's Gamilati became the first maiden since subsequent 1000 Guineas heroine Sayyedati in 1992 to lift the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket.
The even more encouraging news for Sheikh Mohammed and trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni is that they could have an even better filly in Discourse, who beat Gamilati by a short head over the course and distance a fortnight ago.
Frankie Dettori, back after suspension, put Gamilati (14-1) to sleep for much of the race before rousing her in the final furlong to brush aside Russelliana and Shumoos.
The jockey said: "She was a bit unlucky the first two times she ran - she was just a bit green. When I pressed the button she quickened. I just got on the rail because she might have been a little bit green in the middle of the track. It was a very good effort."
Al Zarooni added: "The filly deserved to win a race. We'll keep her at six furlongs. There's no real plan, but we might think about the Lowther Stakes. Frankie's the man for the big races. He dropped her in nicely and did a really good job."
On Discourse, he added: "She was coughing, which is why we haven't run her, but we will find a Listed race for her."
Russelliana finished a length and a half behind, trainer Sir Michael Stoute reporting: "I thought it was a good race coming in and I'm sure it was. The third (Shumoos) was second in the Queen Mary, so it was probably a slightly above-average Cherry Hinton."
Richard Hannon added to his considerable tally of juvenile winners as 25-1 chance Rougemont made a winning debut in the Weatherbys EBF Mawatheeq Maiden Stakes.
The Jimmy Fortune-ridden youngster travelled strongly and showed a smart change of gear to put the race to bed, beating Sports Section by two lengths.
The trainer's son and assistant Richard Hannon junior, said: "We knew he was a nice horse, but we didn't expect him to win like that. It is no secret that we like him. He could be anything and he might be a Racing Post Trophy sort of horse. The nice ones are starting to come through now, but whether we've got one better than him I don't know."
