Jeremy Noseda will seek a first Betfred Cambridgeshire (3.40pm) triumph with current sponsor's joint-favourite Dare To Dance (8st 2lb and 8/1) in the historic nine-furlong contest, the first leg of the Autumn Double, at Newmarket's Rowley Mile on Betfred Cambridgeshire Day, Saturday, September 24.
A total of 158 horses go forward for the £160,000 race at the scratchings stage, details of which are revealed today, Wednesday, August 31.
Dare To Dance has raced only three times, commencing his career with third place in a Kempton mile maiden in April. He followed that with victory in a similar contest at Sandown in July and then scored over 10 furlongs in a Newmarket handicap on August 27.
Noseda said today: "I was delighted with Dare To Dance's performance at Newmarket. I was eager to run him as it was our last chance to get him qualified for the Cambridgeshire.
"That will be his target as we move forward and he has come out of last weekend's race in good order.
"He is a horse that I feel has scope for further improvement. He is still immature and can improve physically and mentally. He is only just beginning to grasp what is required of him now."
Also prominent in the betting with Betfred are the lightly-raced 8/1 joint-favourite Mijhaar (8st 11lb) from the Roger Varian stable and 10/1 shot Labarinto (8st 6lb) from the Sir Michael Stoute yard. Those two were second and third respectively behind Fulgur at Newmarket in July. Labarinto has since landed a 10-furlong handicap at Glorious Goodwood.
The fantastic contest could also feature the Roger Charlton-trained Goodwood winner Cry Fury (8st 6lb) Group Three Dee Stakes runner-up Maqaraat (8st 8lb)from the Charlie Hills stable, and the John Dunlop-trained Maraheb (8st 11lb) who impressed when winning a mile Haydock handicap on August 4.
Others of note include the John Gosden-trained Tazeez (9st 8lb) successful in 2008, and last year's winner Credit Swap (8st 8lb) now in the care of Venetia Williams having taken the prize for previous trainer Michael Wigham.
The five Irish-trained entries include the Dermot Weld-trained pair of Stunning View (9st 6lb) and Rock Critic (9st 6lb), both successful at the Galway Festival in July.
Mario Hofer may send a pair of raiders from Germany with Combat Zone (8st 13lb) and Ideology (8st 10lb) among those going forward.
Betfred representative, George Primarolo, said: "Dare To Dance has been the big mover so far in the Betfred Cambridgeshire following his comfortable victory at Newmarket over the weekend and Jeremy Noseda's colt is now the 8/1 joint-favourite alongside original jolly Mijhaar."

Betfred will generously award a fantastic £100,000 bonus to any stable that wins both the Betfred Cambridgeshire and the Betfred Cesarewitch. Betfred is sponsoring both races for the first time and should any stable land the lucrative bonus being offered, the prize will be split so that the trainer receives £50,000 and the yard's staff share the remaining £50,000.
The last trainer to win both races in a season was Sam Darling in 1925, who saddled Forseti to win the Cesarewitch having already taken that year's Cambridgeshire with Masked Marvel.
