The Group Two Lennox Stakes is the highlight of the opening day of Glorious Goodwood, Tuesday, August 29.
Staged over seven furlongs, there are 44 entries for this year's renewal, a substantial increase on the 28 received in 2013.
Garswood (Richard Fahey) took the spoils last year and is entered again, along with the 2013 third Boom And Bust (Marcus Tregoning).
Sir Michael Stoute has given Integral the bet365 Lennox Stakes as an option. The progressive four-year-old filly, who also remains engaged in the QIPCO Sussex Stakes, was the impressive winner of the Group Two Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.
Other horses successful at Royal Ascot feature among the entries. Field Of Dream (Jamie Osborne) could take the step up to Pattern company, having landed the ultra-competitive Royal Hunt Cup, while Muteela (Mark Johnston) was successful in the Listed Sandringham Handicap for fillies last month.
Richard Hannon jnr, in his first season with as a trainer, is responsible for more entries than any other handler, with seven hopefuls at this stage. These are headed by Toormore, triumphant in the Group One National Stakes over seven furlongs at the Curragh, Ireland, last season and Producer, who stayed on take fifth in the Group One Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.
There could be a German challenger in Amarillo (Peter Schiergen), a triple Group Three winner in his homeland including on his most recent outing at Hamburg on July 1. The Aga Khan owns two of the three French-trained entries in Kiram (Jean-Claude Rouget), a close sixth in the French 2,000 Guineas and Daraybi (Alain de Royer-Dupre), a Listed scorer over seven furlongs. Alain de Royer-Dupre has also entered Redbrook, last seen when eighth in the seven-furlong Group Three Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Other interesting entries include Jersey Stakes runner-up Muwaary (John Gosden) and Kiyoshi (Charlie Hills), who was twice placed at Group One level last year and shaped with promise on her seasonal return when beaten four lengths in the Group One Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
