Mr Win earned himself a deserved visit to the winner's enclosure after landing the Take The Abellio Greater Anglia Train Handicap, better known as the Silver Bunbury Cup at Newmarket.
The Chris Wall-trained gelding had failed to get his head in front since striking at the track last August, but returned in good form having filled the runner-up spot on his last two starts.
Wiliam Buick rode a positive race aboard the 5-1 favourite, tracking the pacesetters, and he showed a smart change of gear once angled out into clear daylight.
Mr Win continued to find extra when coming under strong pressure in the last 100 yards and had enough in the tank to repel Buckstay and Accession by a head and a nose.
Outer Space finished with a wet sail from a long way back to finish fourth.
"He's done nothing but improve from race to race. He's done nothing wrong and deserved to win a race like this," said Wall.
"We had a few concerns about the ground as ideally he'd like to get his toe in a little more, but he's done it well and William Buick has given him a lovely ride.
"Winning this race is probably getting towards his upper limits and we'll wait and see what the handicapper does now.
"The important thing was he got his head in front today. He was very brave when the others came at him."
