The seven-year-old, who was a narrow runner-up in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot, will instead travel to France for the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville in August.

English-born Gibson said: "Gold-Fun is very well and came home from Ascot in good shape. The plan is now the Prix Maurice de Gheest, and he's very much an intended runner at Deauville on August 7."

He added: "It's an ideal race for him, I think, as 1,300 metres (six and a half furlongs) should suit him very well.

"That (Sprint Cup) isn't part of the plan."
