Fair Eva conqueror Spain Burg to go under the hammer

3 minute read

Spain Burg, impressive winner of the Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket last week, has a date at the Arqana Chantilly 'Arc de Triomphe' Sale on Saturday.

Trained by Xavier Thomas-Demeaulte and owned by Roberto Cocheteux Tierno , the filly left one-time 1000 Guineas favourite Fair Eva trailing in her wake in the Group Two.

Ridden by Frankie Dettori, she handled the step up in class and trip with aplomb, having previously done her racing in the French provinces.

"That was her last race of the season and now she is going to the Arc Sale on Saturday," said Thomas-Demeaulte.

"She is currently in Deauville. She didn't come back to my yard after Newmarket because I train in the south of France and we didn't want to take her all that way to go back up the country.

"I've been informed that she is in good form and is eating well.

"Obviously I'd prefer her to stay in my yard as I think she would have a good chance in the 1000 Guineas.

"We will just have too see what happens."
