Paul Nicholls believes Politologue has all the right attributes needed to win the Betfair Tingle Creek at Sandown on Saturday week after comparing him to dual winner Twist Magic.
The six-year-old will bid to back up his victory in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter from earlier this month and give the Ditcheat handler his 10th success in the Grade One contest.
"He has come out of that race really well. He has improved since then and looks great. We will just keep him ticking over to the day. We wouldn't mind a bit of rain," said Nicholls.
"He has to improve. That was his prep run and it was a handicap. I've run others in it before. Kauto got beat in it and won a Tingle Creek.
"I know he is going to improve, as he came back into training late. This is the biggest race he has run in and we will get an idea if he has improved to that level or not. I would not be surprised if he runs very close.
"He gallops and he jumps and he has has got everything you want for a Tingle Creek winner. He is every bit as good as Twist Magic, who won it twice.
"Whether he is a Master Minded, Azertyuiop or Flagship Uberalles, but at the moment he compares very favourably to Twist Magic and it will be interesting to see what he does against Douvan and Fox Norton."
