Goodwood and Deauville likely once more for Chappel-Hyam's Internationalangel
Experienced campaigner Internationalangel is set to return for another season with trainer Jane Chappel-Hyam. The seven-time winner has been kept busy in Dubai over the winter, picking up valuable prize money when third in a Meydan seven furlongs conditions stakes behind Godolphin's Al Suhail.
Jane Chappel-Hyam has identified the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes at the Glorious Goodwood meeting and the Group 3 Prix Quincey at Deauville as likely targets again for the season.
Owned by Laurence Holder, Internationalangel recorded five-straight handicap victories in 2021 after being moved to the Chappel-Hyam yard. She was cleverly campaigned in 2022 to pick up Black Type, finishing runner-up in the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes and the Group 3 Quincey Stakes before a good third in the Listed Fleur De Lys Fillies' Stakes at Lingfield on the all-weather.
Jane Chappel-Hyam said, "She has come back from Dubai. She was turned out at grass for a month and now she's back in training.
"I don't know where we will start her off, but I know where we'll be going in August – she'll head to Goodwood (Oak Tree Stakes) and Deauville (Prix Quincey). I will work backwards from there and pick a few races in between. They are her two big targets.
"She does have an entry in the Duke of Cambridge at Ascot, the race that Saffron Beach won last season, so we will have a look at that."
