Charlie Appleby's five-year-old finished four and a half lengths behind the impressive Mostahdaf when third in the Group 1 Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot last month but should be suited by the step back to twelve furlongs for the first time since finishing fourth in the 2021 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Champion jockey William Buick takes the ride and with the five-year-old a general 4/7 shot to retain his unbeaten Newmarket record by making a winning debut on the July Course.

Charlie Appleby and William Buick teamed up to land the Group 2 prize with Yibir last season.

Stablemate Global Storm, who bumped into Hurricane Lane when second in the Jockey Club Stakes on the Rowley Mile in May, will be partnered by James Doyle once more.

The Gosden-trained Israr finished runner-up to Quickthorn over 1m6f at York on his last start and will be hoping to get off the mark for the season back down to twelve furlongs while Charlie Fellowes' Grand Alliance completes the quartet under Ryan Moore.

Elsewhere on the card, Nostrum makes his eagerly awaited return to the track having not been seen since finishing third behind 2000 Guineas winner Chaldean in the Dewhurst Stakes last season. The Juddmonte-owned colt will take on unbeaten rivals in the shape of Roger Varian's Embesto and Charlie Appleby's Imperial Emperor, who both step out of novice company for the first time in Thursday's Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes. John and Thady Gosden's Mostabshir only has 5lb to find with Nostrum on official ratings and drops back in grade having finished a well-held sixth behind Paddington in the Group 1 St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.
