Lingfield is one of five meetings across the UK and Ireland on Tuesday, with a competitive six race afternoon card.
George Boughey will be looking to add to the yard's two-year-old tally with Band Of Joy in the 6f Class 5 Legends & EBF Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes (4:00). The Land Force filly ran into a good winner on debut at Windsor when second and made amends on her next start when scoring by half-a-length over five furlongs. She showed some temperament at the start and ducked left as she came out of the stalls, before getting on with the job to make all. With more experience under her belt, she looks capable of bigger and better things.
Her main opposition appears to be George Scott's Granny Budgie, who produced a good effort to win over six furlongs at Nottingham on debut. The Massaat filly was slow to start but made headway with four furlongs to go and ran out a convincing three-quarter length winner. The drop back in trip would be a question mark.
Ed Walker's Divya has the experience and the ability to win the 1m4f Class 5 Midland Steel Fillies' Novice Stakes (2:50). She is the first foal out of Nahema, who is a daughter of Lady Bamford's double-Oaks winner Sariska, and has placed on four of her five starts to date. Although the three-year-old has been convincingly beaten in all of her outings, she does keep running into good winners and it seems only a matter of time before she records a maiden victory.
In the 2m Class 4 Buckmore Park Karting Handicap (3:25), Rock Chant appeals as a previous course and distance winner. The five-year-old has been successful three times on the all-weather, including a two mile victory at Chelmsford in April. Barring an unusually poor run at Chester two starts back, he has been commendably consistent since March with three wins and three placings from his seven outings. Ian Williams' yard is in excellent form with a 21% strike rate from the last fourteen days (5-24) and Rock Chant looks the one to side with.
Denis Coakley's Lisdarragh remains on the all-weather for the 1m2f Class 6 Racing League On Sky Sports Racing Handicap (2:15) after a good second over course and distance. He's relatively unexposed on the surface with one win and a placing from six attempts, but showed considerably improved form when only beaten a neck behind Star Of Epsom. The gelding has the assistance of Tom Marquand for the first time and looks to be the bet of the race.
It will be worth keeping an eye on Hydration in the 6f Class 4 At The Races App Expert Tips Handicap (4:35) for joint-trainers Harry and Roger Charlton. The lightly raced three-year-old was a winner as a juvenile on the all-weather at Kempton Park and underwent a gelding operation over the winter. He was well-beaten into third on his reappearance at Windsor in a novice stakes but showed improvement on handicap bow when winning at Ffos Las. He remains open to further improvement.
Lahina Bay chases a hat-trick in the 6f Class 6 At The Races App Form Study Handicap (5:05). She has won on the turf twice since an all-weather Lingfield success on reappearance, including a narrow victory at Windsor over five furlongs. The three-year-old is considerably better over six and should be capable of adding a third win to her tally this season.
