Eight runners have been confirmed for the Group 1 Juddmonte International Stakes at York on Wednesday.
It promises to be a vintage renewal of the ten furlong contest, with Paddington, Mostahdaf and Desert Crown amongst the entries.
Paddington will be returning to ten furlongs for the second time in his career, following a rain soaked victory in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. It was a fourth straight Group 1 success for the Aidan O'Brien trained three-year-old, who has also been victorious in the Irish 2000 Guineas, the St James's Palace Stakes and the Eclipse Stakes.
Mostahdaf is having his first outing since a runaway success in the Group 1 Prince of Wales's Stakes, which was a career best performance for the John and Thady Gosden trained five year old. Frankie Dettori will be taking the ride due to Jim Crowley's suspension.
Desert Crown will also be returning from an absence, having not been seen since a second behind Hukum in the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown Park in May. Last year's Derby hero has been kept lightly raced by trainer Sir Michael Stoute after a setback forced connections to miss Royal Ascot. Stablemate Bay Bridge is also entered.
The field is completed by Group 1 Nassau Stakes third Nashwa, Point Lonsdale, Shadwell's Alflaila and Belmont Derby second The Foxes.
