Andrea Atzeni wasted no time in returning to the winners’ enclosure in Hong Kong.

The Sardinian-born rider rode Lezoo to success at Newmarket on his final UK ride before jetting off to Hong Kong for the season and ensured he picked up where he left off by partnering Mega Bonus to victory for trainer Ricky Yiu in the second leg of the 6f Class 4 Tai O Handicap at Happy Valley.

Andrea Atzeni, who rode in Hong Kong during the 2014/15 season, said: "It's been a while since I've been here and nice in only my second meeting back here to bang in a winner. I must say Ricky Yiu has been very supportive from the minute I arrived, and it was nice to get the first winner for him,"

"The place [Hong Kong] hasn't changed much but what I would say is I have changed, which is the main thing and I'm enjoying it."

Mega Bonus was one of four rides for Atzeni on the Happy Valley card this Wednesday with HK Dragon also finishing fourth in the Class 3 Ngong Ping Handicap for trainer Douglas White.
