Savethelastdance has been ruled out for the season and will not go to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

The Irish Oaks winner appeared an obvious choice for the October showpiece, with the strong possibility of getting her favoured softer ground. She produced a good performance to finish third behind subsequent Prix Vermeille winner Warm Heart in the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks, on good-to-firm.

It has not been decided whether the filly will return as a four-year-old. Trainer Aidan O'Brien said: "We always talk about those things at the end of the year really, so we haven't discussed it yet."

O'Brien's St Leger winner Continuous could be supplemented for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at a cost of 120,000 euros, should the colt recover well from the race at Doncaster.

"We were delighted with him and he seems to be fine, [but] we don't [make plans] until a week or so ever," he added.

"He has a lot of alternatives really anywhere, we'll just see how he is first really I suppose."

The Heart's Cry colt is entered for the ten-furlong British Champions Stakes at Ascot on 21 October and is generally available at 10/1.
